Our First Week in 5I

5I have had an amazing first week back at school. It has been lovely to see how well they have all settled in and how respectful and well mannered all the children have been. I have loved finding out about each individual and learning all about their lives at home and their interests and hobbies. Each child’s behavior has been exemplary, embedding the whole school ethos and IDEALS.

In English this week we have been focusing on writing a Recount all about our summer holidays, as well as using our new spelling programme ‘Read Write Inc’ where this week’s focus has been on the silent ‘b’ sound. In Maths we have been focusing on Place Value and completed different tasks in teams. In CCS we have been looking at people who have influenced the world and the children have been using their ICT skills to research different influencers. And in Science this week we have been looking at the different properties of materials…it’s been a very busy week, but I’m really excited to see what next week brings!
