Term 2 Week 1 in Y5O

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

Welcome back! I hope you all enjoyed a restful and enjoyable holiday. It has been wonderful to see the children return to school with such enthusiasm this week, everyone is clearly well rested and ready to continue making excellent progress this term.

This week in English the children have started a new unit of work focusing on poetry. We have created poetic sentences using similes, personification and alliteration. It's been a great start to our learning and I can't wait to share the poems the children create with you in the weeks ahead.

In Maths we have started to look at fractions. This is often a topic that children can find tricky, in the coming weeks I will be sharing a number of online resources with you here on the blog to help develop their confidence.

Finally, we have welcomed a new student to our class this week. Welcome Jessie to our Y5O class! The children have given her a fantastic welcome this week and have made her feel incredibly welcome at her new school, well done everyone.

We wish you all a safe and restful weekend,

Mr Owen and Miss Ann
