Term 2 Week 2 in Y5O

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

Another eventful week has flown by. This week in English the children were reflecting on last term's residential trip. They each picked out a number of personal highlights from the trip and wrote recounts of their experiences. On Monday of next week we will record them as a public speaking exercise; I look forward to sharing them with you in next week's blog post!

In Maths the children have continued developing their knowledge of fractions. We have found equivalent fractions, converted improper fractions and converted mixed numbers. I have been very impressed with the progress the children have made this week, well done Year 5O!

In Science the children have continued to investigate how different plants reproduce while in PSHE we have started to explore how we can stay as healthy as possible. The children's top tips include:
-Eating a balanced diet.
-Getting regular exercise.
-Making sure you get enough sleep.
-Cutting down on screen time at weekends.
Great advice for us all to follow Year 5!

Finally, a little reminder that our class assembly will be on Friday 31st January (2 weeks from today). I am sure that the children would love to see as many of their parents there as possible.

We wish you all a safe and restful weekend,

Mr Owen and Miss Ann
