Week Three in Year 5

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

It has been another eventful week in Year 5 and once again the children have impressed with their kindness to all in our school community and their determination to succeed across the curriculum. In Maths we have completed our Place Value unit of work and will be moving on to Addition and Subtraction next week. In English we have continued our focus on Discussion texts and worked hard to enhance our speaking and listening skills. During our Science sessions this week students carried out investigations to discover which materials would dissolve and which were insoluble. In Computing we have looked at how we can stay safe online, a hugely important topic for our children in today's world, this focus will continue as we look to ensure all our students are safe and happy online. We even managed to find the time to fit in a Pizza Party to celebrate a birthday within our year group. It's been a wonderful week three and we can't wait for Monday to arrive so we can begin another action packed week.

Reminders for next week:

  • A book fair will be held Monday - Wednesday, make sure you take the chance to purchase a wonderful new book.
  • We are looking forward to seeing you at our Parent Teacher Settling in Meetings taking place across the week, please double check your appointment time.

We wish you all a safe and restful weekend,

The Year 5 Team
